Walter Sisulu embarks on an electricity meter auditing process

The Walter Sisulu Local Municipality (WSLM) is embarking on a process to audit, verify and investigate electricity meters within the municipal area from 02 May 2023 to 30 June 2023.

The purpose of electricity meter auditing is to verify that the meters are operating properly and to collect information about our customers, their addresses, contact details and state of the meter installed on their premises.

Professional service providers have been appointed where electricity meter auditors will be travelling to different residential and commercial locations performing meter auditing.

We appeal to the community to grant access to the electricity meter auditors. Termination of services and a reconnection fee of R471.48 may be imposed if access is not granted continuously. The meter auditing visits will be done weekdays up to 20h00 and on weekends only during the day. Residents are urged to call numbers on notification leaflet and make alternative arrangements to have their meters audited.
